New OC at Nebraska

The hire of Dana Holgorsen, first as an Offensive Consultant and then his subsequent promotion to Offensive Coordinator is a great move by Matt Rhule. Dana Holgorsen is widely regarded as a bright offensive mind who understands how to maximize talent in order to put points on the board. I was hopeful when I heard of the hire that he would become a permanent part of the Husker staff by getting promoted to an Offensive Coordinator role.

With all of this being said, I agree with many out there that eventually Nebraska will shift to more of an Air Raid based offense and that exactly will play to the strengths of Freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola. I also agree with Matt Rhule's assessment that it makes no sense to try and implement the Air Raid offense now, but I can see this being brought into the fold once the off season officially begins.

For me, I wish that this addition would have happened back in January when reports surfaced of Dana Holgorsen being in Lincoln, but while it took some time, it eventually happened, and I think it will provide long term success and an identity that the Husker offense has sorely needed for years.
